Privacy Policy
We are a people’s movement, not a data company. We collect only what we need to keep you informed and connected to this movement. We will never sell your data. Ever.

How We Use Your Data
We use your data for one purpose: to run this movement. Specifically:
- To send you the monthly Cockroach Party newsletter (only if you opted in)
- To contact you about city leadership or volunteering opportunities you expressed interest in
- To understand which issues matter most to our members — published only as aggregate statistics, never identifying individuals
- To improve the website and user experience
We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share it with third-party marketers. We do not build profiles for commercial purposes.
Who We Share It With
Your data is stored on our WordPress website hosted on Hostinger servers (India/EU). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with anyone.
We may share data only in these limited cases:
- With our email service provider — solely to send you the newsletter you opted into
- If required by Indian law or a valid court order — we will inform you unless legally prohibited from doing so
Cookies
Our website uses minimal cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the website to function (form submissions, session handling)
- Analytics cookies — anonymous visitor statistics to understand which pages are useful
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time — the website will still function.
Your Rights
You have full rights over your data. At any time you can:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Correct — ask us to update inaccurate information
- Delete — ask us to permanently remove your data from our records
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email

Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as you remain an active member of this movement. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 7 days. Anonymous, aggregated statistics (total member count, top concerns by city) may be retained indefinitely as they cannot identify any individual.
Children’s Privacy
Our movement is open to all Indians aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have done so unintentionally, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
Security
Your data is stored on a secured WordPress database with daily backups. We use HTTPS encryption across the entire website. Access to the database is restricted to essential personnel only. No system is completely invulnerable — if we ever become aware of a breach that affects your data, we will notify you promptly.
External Links
Our website links to external platforms — Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Facebook. Once you leave cockroachparty.org, this privacy policy no longer applies. Each platform has its own privacy policy which we encourage you to read.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify newsletter subscribers by email. Continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated policy.
